Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) offers us many techniques to change our lives, adopt new habits, communicate more efficiently, get rid of our phobias, know what we want, create new options for ourselves, etc.
In this article I will talk about the best techniques of NLP and what they are used for.
And I will try to make it easy for you to choose the technique you want to use for yourself.
Now that we have eliminated all distractions, let’s start with a clear focus!

8 Powerful Techniques of NLP:
1- Mental Rehearsal (Imagery Training):
Mental rehearsal technique is one of the most widely used and easiest techniques of NLP.
It can be used to develop and reinforce your confidence in yourself to gain a sense of certainty, whether before presenting your product to an investor, shooting your first video for your youtube channel, taking an exam for an important course or starting a show.
The important thing in this technique is to visualize in your mind, in the most vivid way, that you have successfully performed the action you want to do.
In the scene where you create the action you successfully performed in your mind, the images should be very vivid and their colors clear, and you should feel the energy and determination while accomplishing the action.
How is your body language while performing the action?
Imagine your posture and facial expressions.
Your shoulders and head upright and your posture is determined.
And how do you feel when you do what you want?
Are you more passionate or more excited?
Visualize every detail in your mind.
2- Anchoring:
The anchoring technique is about connecting an emotional state with a physical trigger.
Using dogs as an example, every time you throw something to train your dog and you give your dog a dog cracker when he catches it, you anchor the action with the cracker.
So your dog will know that when it catches something and brings it back, it will get a cracker from you.
Although this example is a bit strange, for humans, this technique can also be used to anchor a physical trigger to get into a desired emotional state.
To do this, first think about your confidence and determination when you achieve something.
Visualize all the images and sounds in your mind and feel all the emotions it creates.
In the most intense feeling state, for example, press your thumb and index finger together.
After doing this a few times, you will feel the same feelings of confidence and determination when you press your thumb and index finger together.
3- NLP Swish:
This is the most important technique used to turn a negative behavior into a positive one.
You may need to train a little more for this technique than the “Mental Rehearsal” technique, but it is an effective technique that produces very fast solutions.
For example, let’s assume that there is a habit you want to quit for a long time.
First of all, visualize the image of you doing that habit brightly and vividly in your mind.
Then, when you quit that habit, visualize a bright and vivid image of your changed posture and increased self-confidence, along with the applause and kind words of those around you.
Now replace the positive image with the negative image, bringing the positive image forward and making the negative image as small as possible and imagining it being erased.
By practicing this technique repeatedly, after a while the positive image will become stronger and you will tend to break the habit.
4- Mirroring:
This technique, which we will talk about frequently in terms of rapport (harmony), is the most widely used and most effective technique to establish fast and reliable communication with people.
There is a 7-38-55 rule in communication.
According to this rule, only 7% of your message is conveyed through words.
Your tone of voice contributes 38% while your body language conveys 55% of your message.
Take a good look at the people around you who are in harmonious communication.
Especially their body language and tone of voice are very similar.
In this technique, we first mirror the body language of the people in front of us in order to communicate faster and more reliably.
If he is sitting in a comfortable position while talking to you, do the same; if his arms are tied, let your arms be tied too.
However, if he/she speaks in an energetic tone of voice, accompany him/her with the same tone of voice.
In this way of mirroring, the other person will be more open and trust you in communication because they will see you as themselves.
5- Modeling:
Modeling is the most important technique that helps us achieve our goals faster.
You have all heard or used the phrase: “There is no need to reinvent America”.
It may take a long time to find the right way by trial and error to achieve a goal, and in the end, we can lose our motivation completely and feel a sense of inadequacy.
However, if you learn and model what people around us, who have achieved the kind of goals you want, do differently than you, how they focus and their behavioral patterns, you will reach the result much faster.
So if you have such people around you, don’t hesitate to talk to them and watch them, if not, it might be a good idea to get mentoring or join coaching groups.
If you don’t have any, use social media for yourself and don’t hesitate to find people who can model for you and get in touch with them.
Just reading and modeling the lives of people who have done what you want, people who have made history, your country leaders or the Prophet of the religion you believe in, will help you make incredible progress in your life.
Remember, the more role models you have, the more options you have.
6- Reframing:
This technique is about focusing on the opportunities within a situation that is seen as negative and changing the perception of it.
All of us have faced challenging situations at one time or another, either family-related or work-related.
In such situations, imagine that you are talking passionately about these challenging issues to a friend.
You will realize that the problem does not become smaller in your eyes, on the contrary, the image of the problem in your mind becomes larger and brighter.
In such situations, you should focus on the things in the problem that will serve you, or you should make friends who will focus you on these positive aspects and opportunities, that is, who will help you reframe the problem.
When you reframe the problem, you will notice that your emotions and then your behavior will change quickly.
7- Incantations:
The incantation technique is used to reinforce positive beliefs and create a state of complete trust.
Not only the words and tone of voice but also the body language should be in complete harmony.
Tony Robbins‘ words, which he encourages and teaches us to say over and over again in his seminar, emphasizing each word separately and accompanied by our body language in a very excited and determined way, I constantly say them to myself by adding similar sentences, especially while jogging, and I recommend them to everyone.
Every day and in every way I am getting stronger and stronger
Every day and in every way I become more and more passionate
8- NLP Communication Techniques (Meta Model and Milton Model):
The last technique I will talk about in NLP is communication techniques.
Here, the Meta Model and Milton Model are mainly used.
Meta Model allows us to make more precise meanings in communication and to understand the person’s language pattern and the real intention in their expressions.
For example, when a person says “You don’t understand me!” to his/her spouse, instead of saying “What makes you think that?”, he/she can use the “Meta Model” technique and ask “Exactly which behavior of mine made you feel that I don’t understand you?” to find the real reason in his/her spouse’s expression and facilitate the solution.
Unlike the Meta Model, the Milton Model uses a vague and metaphorical language pattern to put people in a trance.
It is a language pattern that is frequently used in the advertising and marketing industry, and people can be put into the desired emotional state by directing the words directly to the subconscious.
If your employer says to you, “You realize how far you can go if you continue to work with this performance, don’t you?”, he/she is using the “Milton Model” technique.
I use this model a lot to “get pumped up” many of my friends, sometimes I even use it just for fun😊
Before writing my articles, I especially use “mental rehearsal” and “anchoring” techniques, and thus I feel more excited and eager to share my articles with you and keep my motivation at a high level😊
Along with these powerful techniques of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), I will go into the details of all the techniques separately and explain how you can use them practically for your own goals.
When you apply these techniques for what you want to do, you will be surprised to see how rapid changes occur and you will feel your belief in achieving your goals increase even more.
Be full of energy! Believe in yourself! Live with passion!
Take care of yourself!
